Welcome

Hello family, friends, acquaintances, enemies, strangers, government officials, and anyone and everyone in between. I've begun this blog because as may or may not know, I am a white girl who is going to spend a year abroad and like every white girl who spends a year abroad, I am legally obligated to keep a blog.

For the next nine-ish months I will be an English teaching assistant in an elementary school on the island of Gran Canaria, Spain. I will be living one minute (walking) from the beach and working 12 hours a week so I can assure you that it will be pretty tough :(

I'm sure it actually will be pretty tough because I'll have to figure out life on my own over there and I'll be in a ~long distance relationship~. Also I spent this summer with youths and I found that they are wild and scary. I leave for spain in five days and I have not even purchased a travel pillow yet so I am not prepared in the slightest for this.

Nevertheless, I am excited to go wheeeeeeeee as I embark on what I can only assume from other white girl abroad blogs will be a life-changing experience.
